The Feminist Nun is a multi-media project by artist and poet Leah Malka, blending poetry, imagery, music, and performance art to redefine chastity—not as repression, but as a vow of intimacy and female empowerment.

For centuries, chastity was weaponized by patriarchal structures to control women—their bodies, inheritance, and societal roles. Stripped of agency, women were denied the power to define chastity on their own terms. Now, the narrative is shifting.

Academically, this marks a profound turn in feminist discourse. The Feminist Nun disrupts the conflation of sexual liberation with power, offering a revolutionary third space—where autonomy isn’t dictated by indulgence or restriction, but by self-directed meaning-making.

By reclaiming chastity as a conscious act, Leah Malka provides an alternative framework for modern dating—one that empowers women biologically, spiritually, and mentally. In embracing the nun’s mindset, women bypass the triviality of unserious suitors, cultivate a regality of self-worth, and ensure that when love arrives, it is on their own terms.

This is not a return to the past. It’s a reclamation of the future.
